Senior Food Program
BSAO is a distribution partner for Harry Chapin Food Bank’s Commodity Supplemental Food Program (Care and Share).
Once a month eligible seniors receive a free 30-pound box of grocery staples to help supplement the cost of food. Each box is worth approximately $50 and typically includes:
- Fruit Juices
- Cereal
- Rice or Pasta
- Cheese
- Shelf-Stable Milk
- Canned Fruits
- Pasta Sauce
- Powdered Milk
- Canned lower-sodium vegetables
- Protein such as canned Meat
Eligibility Guidelines
- Must be at least 60 years old.
- Proof of residency.
- Proof that household income is at or below 130 percent of federal poverty guidelines (One person – $1,307 monthly income, Two people – $1,760 monthly income)
